subscribed & keep us posted...i thinking about converting my 68 c-10, its an almost identical frame as a second gen...i did alot of measuring when thinking of swapping in a 79 2wd front crossmember, i think 1 of kerts bumper centers would fit right on it, then bolt in the shackle mounts, use my rear shackle flip and make rear spring front mount and just remove the rear trailing arms and coil springs, then i don't have to worry about body mounts!
ok heres a few pics of what ive gotten done. been moving slow doing things right, but at least it runs and moves under its own power now

started trimming the tunnel to fit around the sticks
next, gotta finish the tunnel, prep the floor and herculine it, them onto cleaning up the wiring,then seats and doors, and to think this was a complete blazer with stock springs and half ton axles about a month ago. im happy with the progress
I'm shootin for makin a snow run at baldy before the snow is all gone. Got tags and insurance for it today.so i had to drive it down the street and back. Open header with the big cam. I love the way it sounds.Still gotta dial in the tune and wire the lights
But I would like to hit the hills with guys who know where they are. I've never been up anywhere but baldy and that was once as a passenger. So if u ever want company hit me up
I'm having trouble with my passenger side header hitting my front driveline. Can I just heat it up an bend it clear? Is this a common problem with longtubes on 4wds being that this is my first?
i ended up just heating the long tube and bending it clear.
took it out and beat on in some in the backyard just to find any weak links. so far it all held up good.needs a fan and some wiring touch ups but for the most part its all going smooth
it was quite a bit of fun, cleanup is still in progress. truck did very well. this was just finding weak links and what not. still gotta get exhaust ran and herc the floor and put something for a bed on it
