i am having problems with my new 670 truck avenger, the choke plate wants to jam shut. when i stall the engine doing a brake stand in the mud or trying to climb a bank in 2nd gear.

the truck will just stall and wont start again untill you physicaly push the choke plate open again, which is taking quite a bit of force. if not it just floods.

any insite is greatly appreciated.

You should back off the choke adjustment toward lean. The choke plate should be fully open when warm. I've had this problem with other Holley carburetors when the choke was not fully backed off - a back fire or stall would jam the plate against the horn.

This can also be an indicator of a poor state of tune. Set your idle mixture, RPM and ignition timing as well.
