Go to the DMV and get a state assigned VIN through either a home constructed or hot rod program. It varies from state to state but you are allowed to build whatever you want as long as it meets safety requirements.

It's my understanding if you don't have a tag or title then you can get a reconstructed vehicle title by inspection from your local sheriff's department or highway patrol as long as you show proof of purchase with the receipt, paperwork, etc. Then upon approval they will issue a new tag on the cab and give you the necessary paperwork to submit to your local DMV when you title it in your name. BUT......if you go this route then the truck will be issued as the current year, not the year you wish for. Yep, those 69-72 blazer tubs will be tagged as a 2023 if you get a reconstructed title. Then your tags and taxes will skyrocket. At least this is how they do it in Kansas.

Here inthe 801, it gets a DOT safety inspection, then, assigned a Vin number. And called an "other Vehicle" simple as that
Slightly off topic but similar situations- I’ve been watching my buddy rebuild his CJ and keep thinking I should buy a Mahindra ROXOR, add a Jeep grill and VIN and call it good.
A co-worker with me has a Roxor. It's interesting. I called it a Jeep from a distance until he corrected me and told me about it.
I know this is a older post but I thought I'd chime in. I looked at Dynacorn(my buddy has one on order) they were 9k with no top, but had doors, dash, tailgate and stock firewall. Premier Street Rod was my 1st choice they started at 15k and gave you options of tailgate, dash, firewall and the top was another 9k. Tuckers Automotive sold me my tub with top, upgraded tailgate, upgraded door latches, AC dash, AC firewall and moved the gas fill to behind the taillight for $25,580.00.
When I talked to Dynacorn they claim their bodies are made of US metal shipped overseas for stamping then shipped back. Both Premier and Tuckers made it sound like their tubs were stamped in the US and assembled in Texas. If the body I have didn't need 30K in body and paint I would have just used that.

Are you happy with the fit /finish /straightness of the steel stampings & welding?
What did it take for time or. $$¢ to get the panels blocked smooth with Polyester, Putty, long boarded , final priming and into paint?

Hey CT-Blazer thanks for asking.
I can't comment on the fit finish etc. I just placed the order December 21st and I talked with Cody Tucker today and asked him if he would hold onto it for me and I can meet him at the C10 Nationals in Salt Lake City the weekend of June 22nd 2024 and pick it up then. This will give me time to prep my frame, track down running gear items I need and he will be able to display it at his booth. It also saves me 6 additional hours of drive time when I go to pick it up. I will start a build thread soon and share the pics I do have of my build so far.
I ordered a Dynacorn tub in August. Supposed to ship in July or August of 24. Will post pictures when it arrives. Much better option than trying to save a 53 year old rusted body. Cheap metal alone. Sheet metal alone was going to cost more than the tub.
I've been trying to get a '57 cab from Dynacorn for the past 2-3 years and still waiting today. They claim the metal is stuck in shipping containers overseas. Not sure what to believe anymore.
I did reach out to Premier and asked them about theirs. I also reached out to Seth Doulton of Golden State Pickup Parts and the Skoal Bandit, Copenhagen, Boss monster truck fame and both places reported that Premier gets all their stamped steel from Dynacorn. So in reality Premier upcharges their prices as the middleman. Seth also stated that he would stay away from them for personal reasons that he would not divulge.
Meanwhile I'm still trying to get a '57 cab so I can build my dream truck as shown in my avatar.

@73k5blazer, @Asherk5, I think @tomuchstuff was the guy who had 2. But doesn't the vehicle keep the same VIN, like any body swap?

Good afternoon, two options.. one you could use your existing chassis which would provide your vin or you could purchase a new frame and get a builders title from the state.

All the parts come from the same plants in Taiwan. We assemble our blazer tubs on custom built fixtures. There are tubs out there that are assembled in Taiwan as well. As to who sells those, Im unsure and can only speak for ourselves. Our quality is much better then those pre-assembled tubs. Also, we are the only company that I have yet to see build the entire Blazer tub with the front clip.
The 69-72 tubs sounds all good and kosher and gives plenty of warm feelings in me but I'm after a 55-59 cab instead. Are you guys doing those?
