I have a 6-point roll cage for 1st Gen K5 in great shape, 2" tube diameter, no rust at all.
This fits fine under hard top (my top is double walled).
See pics for cage installed and notes below for the versatile way this cage can be configured/installed.
Note that the rear most hoop "C" is connected to the middle tube "B" with removable horizontal bars connecting these two hoops.
So you can actually install as shown in pictures or without the horizontal bars or even without hoop "C".
Hoop "A" has base plates attached to bed floor just behind the front seats, hoop "B" has base plates attached to rear wheel humps. And Hoop "C" has base plates attached to floor about 6-8 inches in front of the lift gate..
Hoops "A" and "B" are welded together with cross bars and plates (at very top of hoops) these remain as a one unit 4-point roll bar -which is the part that can be installed alone.
I bought this roll cage already built this way about 10 years ago from a guy who had it on his 1st Gen K5 and don't know if it was custom fabricated this way or was ever an after-market item.
