yea, but was it a 6 lug 2wd or a 5lug 2wd?? I didn't run into any 2wd disk brak 6 luggers...

No such thing as 2WD 6 lug with disc brakes (at least until they went back to 6 lug on the 2WDs in 1999). Last year for 2WD 6 lug was 1970. First year for front discs was 1971. This sucks for the guys who have pre '71 2WDs, because there are no factory parts to convert to front discs unless you convert the whole truck to 5 lug.

yes no disc brakes on anything til 71

70 was last year for 6 lug 2wd

and 4x4 didnt make it any different
neither if they were blazers, no difference, the 2wd blazers were 5 lug after 70 also

no 6 lug 2wd rotors were ever produced factory

yes you can nowadays finally buy 6 lug front rotors 2wd, they are all aftermarket

you can swap entire engine suspension cradle over to a 70-down truck from a 71-87 truck

70 and up rear axles widened by 1.5" no matter if std or HD brakes 2" vs. 2.75" wide such as the Big10 pickups and any that had HD suspension options that increased GVW rating enough to require the thicker rotors and wider rear shoes.

you can bolt the 2.75" brakes(from the backing plate out to the drum) to a '69-older axle and use 71-up shafts(31 3/16" long overall minus the studs) and convert the older axle over to 5 lug without any mods

I am in the process of converting a 70 to disk, 5 lug by putting the 73 and up knuckles in the front, and 5lug axle shafts in the 12bolt, are you saying the shafts will not be the right fit?
I could swap the axle all together but it's the coil suspension rear and i want to retain that.

70-82 shafts are all same length, youll be fine

70 is still six lug shafts, but is 5 lug shaft length

they waited one year to change them to 5 lug for 2wd

the 4x4's 70-up use the same 6 lug shaft length as the 2wd's did in 70
