Hay everybody.Im having a deceloration noise that sounds as though it comming from the tcas or rear of trans.I came across an old post here from 8 years ago with no end result posted and as yet I do not have permition to post a link to it.It.I was also having a shift grinding when going from 2h to 4h so I tore the case down and found the last person failed to install the main sincro and related parts.6 parts total missing. Also the planet gear was damaged beyond use where it rides in the annulus bushing.I purchased a used unit and was able to get all the parts nessassary to compleet the rebuild with the exception of the bushing which I got new.I have years of dealer experiance rebuilding tcase units and Im confident its corect but no experiance with lifted trucks. This is only my second truck Ive had and the first was all stock s15 jimmy not counting the 87 parts truck used for the drivetrain in my current full size 84 jimmy. The tcase drop down spacers are out of the shortbed parts truck and Im thinking I need more of a drop but not how much.BTW I can recreate the noise with the rear wheels jacked up and with the tcase in newtral no noise so I thinking its still tcase back problem.Any simular experiances with this problem are invited. Thanks Gary.

Could be your pinion angle in relation to the rear axle to the rear of the t case. You will need a t case drop plus maybe a a 3 or 5 degree pinion shim.

You have any idea on a good starting point for how far down to drop the crossmember? The rear blocks do have a taper increesing the pinion angle.Maybe my short wheel base requires a differant block than the short bed they came off? Thanks. And dont kill me I got my name because I love killing zombies.LOL

Finaly stoped raining long enough to go outside. The clossest thing I had to a spacer that would work was the arms off my engin stand.Brought it down as far as I could go without hitting the firewall with the dist cap.Took it out for a ride and like night and day change. Was slaming gears at 6k nice and smooth and when I let off the gas no vibrations.Just need to hit the hardware store for the corect size bolts and some washers or something to get my engin stand arms back. Thanks for the help.
