700R4 Installation

I just purchased a 700R4 and will be replacing my tired Turbo 350 in a few weeks. The 700R4 is already set up with the Advanced Adapters output shaft to mate to my NP205. From posts on Wulf's old site, it sounds like moving the engine cross member forward about 1 3/8" is the best route to go. From those of you that have done this before, how does this affect transmission mounting and linkage? Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks,

When I did my TH350 to 700R4 swap all I did was move a bracket that's located on the drivers frame rail right across from where the linkage attaches to the tranny.The orig. tranny linkage attaches to it.I just removed the bottom bolt and swung the bottom of the bracket forward and drilled a new hole for it.Then I had to fool around with the shifter linkage and adjust it untill everything worked.It took a while but I got everything to shift properly,even the neutral safty switch works.The problem was with the shifter indicator.If the indicater pointer is installed it will hit the shifter indicater housing when manually shifted into 1st gear.Remove the pointer and it will shift into 1st just fine.

Well that works great because I do not currently have a shift indicator pointer. That was on the list of things to get (down near the bottom). To summarize, you moved the engine cross member forward, mounted the tranny to the stock mount location, and just had to futz with the linkage as you described above?
 
You got it.The most time consumeing part was messing around with the linkage.
