So I got my 700r4 rebuilt recently. When I sent it in, I forgot all the pan bolts, so it wasn’t sealed when I got it back. I put it in, tightened the pan down, filled it up, and it leaked first day. I went back and retightened but still leaked. Off to the store for a new gasket because I must have over-tightened. New gasket, torque wrench at 12lbs, star pattern. Drive it, no leak! Park it, come out the next morning, huge puddle of transmission fluid. Guess where it’s coming from…you guessed it, the pan:dunno:. Upon further investigation I discovered that it was also coming out of my dip stick, at the top! Must be a venting problem, or lack thereof, building pressure inside the case. I took the hose off the venting tube at the top and realized that I had mashed the tube with the hose clamp. Fixed the tube, take it for a drive, bring it home, and a tiny leak, unknown as to its source yet (may be residual). Here’s the question:
Has anyone run into this before, and if so, did you end up having to replace gaskets (pan, t-case) and seals (dipstick)? Any help would be appreciated.

hmmmm
ummmm
rrrrrr
I say start fresh, clean the pig and find where it originates. Also make sure some SOB didn't over fill it. I don't think I torque mine to 12lb, more like 7 or something. Actually I don't think I've ever used one on the pan hehe.
