I am swapping the 700r4 out of my 89 burb to an sm465.I searched and everything I read said I should be able to just plug into the clutch switch on the clutch pedal.I read it was the purple/yellow wires. But none of my plugs fit the switch are there different clutch switches? My pedal set up came out of a1 ton truck late 80's eariy 90's.Here is a picture of the clutch switch.

I am sending the auto column to http://gmtiltsteeringcolumn.com/ and have them rebuild the column. And change it over to a manual column.I just need help with the clutch/netural safety switch wiring. And which wires to run to the reverse lights.I can take pictures of anything you want under the dash. Please help. Thanks

That clutch switch will work but its newer style than most people are talking about. The one plug with the green/blue wires is for your backup lights you will splice those wires into your tranny switch for backup lights. Most of your pics are blurry and hard to tell what they are for.

Here is pictures of the wire colors and the plug on them.Hope there better pictures.
Blue plug.

I checked at the gm dealer that clutch switch is stock for 86-91 gms with a hydro clutch.Do you have a part number for the switch you are talking about?

sweet. just renewed my membership so i could reply to this LOL
I have an '88 with factory sm465. I put a bypass switch in so i would not have to hold the clutch in while i started the truck, but i would be able to flip the switch if someone else drove it... that doesnt really happen.

anyways, i would not worry about a neutral safety switch. It is much more important for me to be able to crank the truck in gear to get thru an obstacle, or out of the street, if something goes wrong.
next time i will connect the ignition wires directly and forget about the neutral safety alltogether.

Top pics: those look like the connectors for the ignition block. I cant remember which wire go to what.

The last few with the green/yellow/tan wires are for the headlights. One should be from the switch and one wire goes to the high beam circuit and one to the low beam circuit.

Here are the two plugs that went to the switch on the bottom of the auto column.

That connector with the green/blue wires should be the backup lights. Maybe one power and the other is to the lights  Not sure cuz mine arent hooked up right now.

I dont know about the other one :dunno:

That silver box may be for the cruise control. The wipers only have a couple wires; that box has way too many.
