Ok so i got my 72 chevy 4x4 and i purchased a 02 6.0 that im putting in it along with a nv4500, my question is what full length headers have you used that work, besides pacesetter's $700 dollar headers. Basically any vehicle specific headers that would work on the older trucks. I find 2wd headers all over the place but nothing for the 4x4. Any thoughts?

I've got no advice on the headers but I hope you plan on putting up a detailed build thread! I've got a 383/NV4500 right now and I'd really like to switch to a 6.0 myself.

I got a buddy that is a store manager at a parts store so me and him will be probably be order a bunch of different sets to do test fits. Im thinking the ones off a avalanch or a envoy with the 6.0

I would lobe to get the doug thorleys but i dont really wanna spend $700 on headers for a crawler, now if it was a hot rod i would lol

if you don't want to go headers, i've heard that f-body camaro manifolds, or trailblazer SS manifolds will work real well too.

at least, thats for the 73+ blazers. i've got an 02 6.0 as well, but mine's going into a 1980 k5.

the manifolds might still work for you though. the f-body and trailblazer manifolds are supposed to be block hugger manifolds, keeping everything in close to the engine.

F-body and corvette manifolds will work. The Thorley headers fit niceon my '75. It's the same part# for the frist gen [ i think]

I will do some trial and error for my truck with the 5speed and see what works best or just break down and buy the doug thorleys

Ok so i emailed doug thorley and asked them if they made these headers in just black for a cheaper price. Their response was then can do them in just black but you have to catch them at the right time before they send off the headers to be coated....and they just sent a batch off, and that the price would be pretty close to the coated price, so i guess i will get some coated ones or try out some f-body ones

Speedway offers some high flow block hugger manifolds for the ls motors. I'm not sure if they would work in our old trucks or not. They look good.
