What do you recon you might want for the cam? I think it would be perfect for the 396 in the crew cab!


I usually sell off my parts at 50% discount.... When the new cam arrives I'll even have a perfect box to use to protect it!!!

Roger that. I think my version of draining the bank account is slightly different than yours so I'll have to see how much a set of retrofit lifters go for. I'm assuming you are keeping your current lifters? I can definitely swing the price of the cam at 50% off! But the lifters I seem to remember being like $600. If that's the case, I might not be able to justify it to myself. As far as other items, I am in the search for an intake, but I want a spread bore one for use with my quadrajet.

I do love my FAST setup, but it doesnt have timing capabilities.
Not a big deal with how I drive my truck, but I could see wanting to have that option on a street/off road truck or on my Vette where it gets raced a few times a year. Would be cool to map out your own timing curve!

I really like my FAST setup too but there's some more fine tuning that I wish I could do as in hook up a laptop and tweak the tables some to smooth out a few things.
 
Greg, dooood at this point you only outdo your own self. You sir have reached the epitome of self OCDismnessessness. IDK, I'm sure the next generation of doctors will have a better term for it. But I'd say you have been DIAGNOSED!
 
Greg, a friend talked some "sense" into me. I need to pass on your beautiful, perfect parts that I want so bad. I'm going ls some day so I need to keep my 396 uber budget until then. The sad thing is I will be doing a cam swap in it... But the cam and lifter setup will be less than just buying your cam. But I REALLY want your cam!! If I could find a set of good used hydraulic roller lifters to use with that cam I would do it! I just can't believe how perfect the specs on that cam are! There are Chinese roller lifters out there for $150 a set but that just can't be good. Right? Even for a motor that will probably only rack up 15k miles or so before it gets swapped for a ls. Anyway enough rambling. I want your cam, so very bad, but I just shouldn't.
