I could understand the old pictures and vast quality of transfer over, but to post new pictures? That is like digging a deeper hole.

How far back back do I have to go on 7800+ post thread to find his reasoning? I think I skimmed back a few pages and didn't find anything.
Most people forget how large this thread is.

He's got it figured out.
I remember it in here and on a couple of other threads in the lounge when the photobucket nuke hit all the forums. The gist of it being that rather than start over, which even then he had questioned doing, he'd pay a fee to manage his photo files. It's another thing to keep in perspective here. He's paying to host photos so any person on CK5 paying or not paying can see them. He doesn't have to any of that.

Hey Greg, what’s going in the missing cabinet area on the floor and above it? Is that the missing pallet or something else planned? Googling cabinets makes it seem like New age are the only game in town besides Rubbermaid and a few others in the “reasonable” price range.

Original intent was to leave a small area under the countertop for a stool to sit and maybe do some TIG welding there. I left that one space open for the stool but with the cement lip on the floor it doesn't seem like it's really going to be a good option after all. Probably will just use my existing rolling workbench for both TIG/MIG welding, and might even buy one more of those lower 5-drawer cabinets to fill in the open space. (It's true that you really CAN'T have too much storage!!!)
The open area above the bench was really just to allow for large items that I might be working with. I could foresee that having a solid row of overhead cabinets 22" overhead could occasionally make it difficult to work on big stuff.

Makes sense now. That cement lip does make the stool thing hard.
You CAN have too much storage lol... In my case I have LOTS of places to store stuff. So I end up keeping tons of crap I don't really need

When I was working out of my smaller house garage I had to trim the fat ALOT, so I tended to only keep/have what I needed.

There’s also more groups catered to the K30’s so it’s understandable why I’m over there a lot.
FB has its moments. Some groups allow cussing and mocking others which made it fun to poke at others.

It's been a while since I've checked in, and there's been plenty going on.... probably busier than I can remember being in a while but since I refuse to be defeated, I just bought myself a new t-shirt and got to work!
Plenty of you know fellow CK5 brother Rob Nicholson @rdn2blazer
Well, due to some work-related travel to SoCal, I actually got the chance after MANY years of "internet friendship" to meet THE MAN in person at his place.
It was just like you'd expect it would be. Even though we had never met in person before, we spent several hours together talking about everything and it was a completely natural extension of the CK5 friendship that we'd shared for years. He's a soft-spoken guy, but tough as nails.... so certainly, if he can push himself every day and never give up there's no reason I should slow down either.
Everyone knows that with the move to TX, time gets split between house-related projects and garage time. Charlie desperately needed a new larger room and furniture so we tackled that a little while ago...
Sundays and evenings I still sneak out into the garage to continue organizing and building the space. Recently, had the enjoyable (for OCD people) of organizing bolt/nuts/washers from old dusty Akro bins into nice clean drawer organizers
Then, thanks to Pinterest (which I now HATE) I was asked "Can you build something like this in our kitchen...?"
I probably should have said "No... impossible".... but instead, I spend about 60 hours cutting and fitting and sanding until I reached this point on Saturday (just needs paint and real countertops now)
One of the final BIG pieces of the new garage space was the addition of a 14' maple butcherblock countertop for the workbench areas. Most places don't even make them this big, but PerfectPlank out in Oroville, CA does... and they got this one to my door in about 2 weeks.
Fortunately, after that Charlie came out to help me with some of the aesthetic planning for the wall decorations. He takes it VERY seriously and does a great job.
Didn't get it all done (yet) and it looks like we are going to run out of wood (again) but we will keep pushing forward...
So that's a small flavor of the intensity and effort lately. It's exhausting but the progress is real and it's starting to feel like the "breakthough" is just a few weeks away.
