my heater is not working like i know it should and i don't know squat about them, it takes about an hour of running for it to get to a comfortable temperature. now i know its not winter anymore but i don't like stuff to not work properly and want it fixed so that it's off the list. any ideas?

how hot is your engine getting? Sounds like maybe your thermostat is staying open, engine isn't warming up enough.

the engine is warming up fine i do know that but ive also heard that a possible problem is the blower motor. could that be a problem?

So its not putting out hot air - or the air coming out is hot, just not much of it?

If you have factory AC, you might check the vacuum valve going into the heater core. It needs vacuum to open the valve and let hot water into the heater core.

It is also very common for the blower housings on these truck to get full of leaves and debris which blocks airflow. Unfortunately the whole thing has to come apart to clean it out.
Good luck - summers coming soon and you won't need the heat!

Check your ducting under the dash too. If its the original stuff there's a good chance its coming apart and your air isn't making it to the vents.

well see my dad put that all together a couple years ago and i've got no clue to what is back there but i shall take it apart and find out:hack:
