73 454 HEI swap

I swapped out the old points dist.for the HEI.I did'nt notice any diffences in the shaft,it runs great,no problems yet.However I've been researching and I've read that some applications rquire a points type dist??????

Uh, I can't see any reason any ordinary human would want a points dizzy. They suck.

Just to verify, though, you ran a new power wire for the HEI, right, and didn't connect it to the power wire for the points?
