talked to the owner today, here are some more details
- truck is all stock, no aftermarket parts.
- engine / tranny have been rebuilt (stock)
- owner was a smoker so there are carpet burns, and it probably smells like a$$
- it has 160k miles on it
- body is in good shape, just a few dings (said no rust)
- headliner is ripped
- i guess chevy had paint problems, and the dealership repainted the truck for the owner for free or something? at any rate, the paint has been redone.
that is all i can remember right now
kelly blue book is $2100 for the truck, they are asking $4000, what do you think i should offer?

Take a print out of the Kelly Blue book value with you. You may be able too get them talked down.

If KBB is $2100... wow. That seems awful low, but the smoker thing is a kicker for me. $4K seems awful high, but that's just me. I mean, rebuilt engine is nice, depending on when... but wow.

If the paint was done because of the primer adhesion problem then it was done many yrs ago. The correct way to solve that problem was to take it down to bare metal and reprime and paint it. But if it's still holding up then it must be okay. Find out when it was done.
It doesn't sound like that good of condition, there are better ones out there. Hard to tell what a good price is without looking at it. I'd say $2500.
Have you checked Craigslist? My friend picked up a sweet 78 Blazer with 24K original miles for $2900 from a college kid. Also he just got a very nice stock 89 burb for $3500. Be patient and a good deal will come along.
If you find one in my neck of the woods and want a prescreening let me know and I'll see what I can do.
