Wanted 73-87 4wd motor mount frame stands/towers and core support mounts

That doesn't bother me. If I want to build it up with MIG wire and dress it up, that's what I may do.
I am curious to see what the difference is that #thatK30guy is speaking of with the body mount. If it's only a bushing difference, I'm good.
Not sure of the difference. Can pull some measurements off of mine snd you can compare them

That'll work. Hopefully @thatK30guy can share his wisdom on the matter as well and save us both some trouble. As long as they can be used without much trouble, I'm ok with some differences.

The holes are smaller on the 73-80. The top surface is also a slightly different height than the 81-87 hence the thickness of both bushings are different also. You'd be happier and easier off finding the correct year you need rather than trying to cobble it all up.

These are the only best pics I can find on Google to show the holes but they don't show the size difference and they are noticeably and visibly smaller and larger opposite of each other.

The 81-87 bushings are all equal in size and thickness so it wouldn't matter which bushing you installed anywhere on the frame.

The 73-80 has three different size bushings beginning thinnest at the radiator mount, thick in the middle at the front cab mount and thickest at the rear cab mounts. You cannot swap them around in place of each other.

Can you tell me the difference in height from the top surface of the frame to the top surface of the mount? I laid a 4' level across my frame and, well, I came out with 1/2" on the passenger side and 3/8" on the driver's side :surepal:.
The measurements in your other pics seem like they will work ok. If the height is workable, even if I have to shave some bushings and sleeves, I'll make them work. I'm not doing a nut and bolt restoration here. Just building a truck that is fun to drive.

These are flush with the frame rails

I'll make something work. I've already put a K5 gas tank in the rear of this frame so it's not like some tweaking of the body mounts is intimidating.
Please let me know when you get them off and what I owe you. And thank you again for all the help!!

No problem. Will try and get them cleaned up and ready to mail to check shipping prices.

You will be doing some fab work to make the rubber mounts work. The bushings on the 73-80 are smaller diameter than the 81-87 and if you use the older bushings on the newer steel mounts the bottom side bushing will probably slide right thru the big hole on the 81-87 steel mount meaning the radiator support won't be fastened to the mounts properly. You may need to weld some type of washers to the steel to reduce the hole size in order for the bushings to work.
Or you can use the bushings from the 81-87 trucks and call it good.

I’ve got a set of the motor mount towers in my scrap collection. I’ll go dig em out today and get some pictures for you.

Ones still bolted to the crossmember and they both have half the clamshells on em. The rust is just surface.

Well, they don't have holes rotted in them like mine do :D . Please let me know how much you want for the parts and to ship to 46356
You don’t need the Xmember and the clamshells do you? If not, it’ll save on shipping. I’ll take em apart and clean em up a bit. I think I have a box too. I’ll let you know this evening. $40 plus shipping sound fair? I’ll pm you with my PayPal info.

I don't need anything but the stands themselves. Except for the body mounts that I also included in this listing. Yeah $40 plus shipping is good with me. Thank you.

Still need the body mounts? Work has been busy. Just got home before Thanksgiving. Sorry about not getting back to you.
All good. I plan on using the B-52 mounts from DIY4X. They look pretty stout. Thank you for getting back to me, I totally understand your ordeal with the work schedule
