I just came from a rural drive and I noticed a CK5 in someone's yard so I had to turnaround and have a look. Turns out it's a '73 CK5 but without a motor, tranny & transfer case. The older gentleman had a plans to rebuild it but his wife felt otherwise. He did place the body onto a straighter frame and the front & rear diff's are 12 bolt. I kicked the tires with him but I didnt ask what he would take for the frame with diff's. What could the possibilities be? :dunno: I ay return and see what he would take for it as is,...but what would be a good starting bid?

You mean a K5? "CK5" is our little abbreviation for ColoradoK5...

How was the body on that full vert? Most all the mechanical stuff is relatively cheap, easy to find and easy to work on. Serious rust issues are a son of a bitch to put right time/money/skill wise.

Oh my bad on the mis-abbreviation/acryonym,..I always thought the C was for Chevy,..owell. But the body, such as the whole front clip is in very good condition, with just a slight bit o rust. This K5 has the auto hubs. It has a sky blue paint job,not in too bad o shape.

hmmm auto hubs

unless you want the frame only, the axles aren't anything special. Late model 10bolt with auto hubs and older 12b rear. Unless the body and frame are good, there's no highlight to the truck IMO.

It seems like all K5's are goin cheap right now. I was seeing prices all over the place when I bought my second rig 2 years ago. I even saw some down in the $1,500 range that were running units, they just needed more body and interior work than I wanted to mess with.

I'd say throw something cheap out there and see what he says:dunno:. All he can do is :haha:. I wouldn't mind having a full vert someday. Keep us posted, maybe pics if you go back.

possibilities? on a clean slate full vert?? endless.

sounds like what im currently looking for

especially if it originally had a manual trans and the clutch pedal assemblies and everything are still there.

This 73 does have inside the grille theh numbers "454",and I did ask what was in it prior to the motor being removed and he(Ed) said a 327 was in it. But there is no clutch in this rig. and it had a 350HD.

not necessarily a bad thing, I personally prefer manual, but not everyone does. any full convertible blazer without serious rot is IMHO a fantastic starting point for anything but a dedicated rock crawler. and again, thats just because I feel there are so many cheap 80's rigs to use for that, and comparibly few full convertibles, they shouldnt be beaters if it can be avoided.

So, remind me not to post anything after I get off of a 12 hour shift and I'm mindlessly browsing the forums.

Lol. I was in a spam bashin mood cuz theres been alot lately and i didnt realize he actually has some other posts that are real. My bad lol.
