everyone seems startled by deciding to dump time and effort into such a far gone Rig... truth be told i really really wanted a fullvert. i paid basically for the windshield frame and the fiber glass top. the whole rebuild is basically a "can i do it experiment"... if i can't, then i go by the 3rd gen in far better shape and covert that to a fullvert. But again guys thanks for all the support. much appreciated.

I really hope you do go through with it and it works out for you. Its alot of work, but it may result in some people thinking twice before they scrap out their "rust bucket" that really isnt rusty at all compared to what you have started with. These trucks get scrapped out every day, and if people keep it up, one day not too far from now, we wont be able to enjoy them anymore, nor will future generations. Yer my hero :thumb: (fyi im the guy that bitches at everyone when they trim fenders... Lol)

I got a XJ thats my DD until my K5 is done. I wouldn't spent my $$ on sheet metal if i was gonna hack away at the fenders... thats what the XJ is for. like a wife n a girlfriend. one you treat with respect and love and the other is just for the nasty nasty:woot:

:bow: that should be in the bible lol. :thumb::popcorn:

Would be cool to be able to fix something that was that bad.

Besides those in the know will always know if you used a newer tub and converted it to a full vert.

I am going to do it when I swap bodies on my 89 but it will never be a 73 like I had before, just seemed cooler to say I had a 73 blazer, instead of an 89 Jimmy

I have scrapped them for to many dents, lol Great job repairing the vert. I really need to get in gear with fixing mine, mine has zero rust, one or two dents and absolutely no paint what soever. Yet i still havnt had time or really the want to start with it. haha I just tear it up and wash it once or twice a year, and it still doesnt rust anymore or do anything that would require me to paint it, shes a great gal.

yeah anyone who knows Bowties will spot this automotive abortion a mile away... especially since the short bed donor had dual tanks and the filler doors are infront of the wheel well on both sides of the bed and the K5 has a round gas gas behind the wheel well. i might leave the fuel doors on the bed and do a 3 tank set up :D, or i might just shave em and you'ld be hard pressed to know it's a swap. it's what i like to call a 10/50... she's a prefect 10 from 50 yards away.

stay tuned beers on ice, grills getting warmed up and the boys are comin over tomorrow to do the swap. and as always pics up soon. DO WORK
