Your right! My 10 bolt never gave me any trouble and I wasnt easy on it! I hope I can sell it on Craigslist for maybe $100 bucks? I would love to use it on a little transaxle buggy bought im running out of real estate. Dana 60s are way too expensive around here. A decent chevy drop 60 goes for $1500 bucks even if its beat. I got lucky! :woot:

good luck, I couldn't sell my 10 bolts for $50 each. Ended up scrapping them.

I got a couple hundred for a 4:10 8 lug 10 bolt though.

Nice build BTW

I've heard that a lot of people just scrap them. My front 10 bolt has dana44 outers so its 8 lug so maybe ill get something for it? The rear end is a 14 bolt sf so i should get $80 bucks for it. Maybe more since it has new stuff on it.

Have you been to prarie city or the rubicon with your truck?

The 8 lug makes it worth more, you should be able to get a couple hundred if it's complete with brakes and lockouts.

14B SF or FF?

SF probably 100-150 and 250 for a FF.

Haven't made it to Prarie City or the Rubicon yet.....just a quick shakedown trail run this past fall was it. This spring we'll be able to do more :D

Awesome its going on Craigslist soon!

14 bolt semi float. I have a full floater thats going to swap that out.

Same here, I cant wait to get this thing going! You're about an hour and a half northeast of me! Do you have a group you go with? I'm trying to find a couple guys to do some runs.

Excellent! Sunday nights are my favorite time to check in here to see what everyone has done over the weekend!

I wouldn't take any grief over swapping out a 14bsf for a 14bff. Semi floaters are glorified half ton axles.

Why do you say that you 10 bolt has Dana 44 outers? Are they flat top knuckles?

Martin

I am sooo jealous of you California trucks...

Carry on
During my restore, when I pulled up the old carpet and insulation, the paint still looked fresh on the floorboard and bed area. My K5 has zero rust. :D

Thats about the only good thing here, everything else sucks.

Build sliders. Like now , don't wait.

Funny you should mention that! My sliders just came in today! As i mentioned in one of my beginning posts, I really like to make my own stuff to save cost and learn but these sliders i got ended up being cheaper than i could make them. I bought trail gear 58" sliders which will be welded on. When i added up what i could get DOM tube for (1.75") it works out to about $9 a foot plus tax and shipping on top of that starts making these look like a good deal. I have so much stuff on my plate that it will also save me a lot of time being that i don't have access to a bender....which metal work in my area runs about $100 an hour :eek1: There really well made and i scored free shipping! I believe they ran my $170 bucks from 4wheelparts.

Hopefully ill get them on within this month...pics to come. With all the Toyota running around with chevy parts I felt like i needed to offset that with a yota part on my chev!

:sign17: Other than clean cars, nature and a few good cities its pretty rough. Gun laws are horrible, taxes are outrageous (i think my income tax is about 28% because im single with no kids), gas prices are rape, no shortage of violence and so on. Everyone thinks california is where its at... its not! My 3 bedroom home is cheaper per month than a single bedroom apartment which fetches around $1800 month. Im not sure im long for california...

Exactly! If the FF for some reason breaks my wheel will stay on at least!

Yeah i ran the part numbers early on when i got the truck to try to ID the front axle and it came up D44. There flat top knuckles and its in good condition so hopefully ill get some bites on it. Apparently from what ive read the parts are interchangeable so i guess the PO just went dana 44 from the housing out. It still has those stupid auto-locking hubs which are a joke. I could never figure out if they were working or not!

Not really a group per say, I have a couple friends with rigs but there not into the stuff I want to do :D

If you're planning on heading toward the sierras let me know, I'm definitely doing the rubicon this spring.

Sweet i definately will let you know! I have a few friends with built rigs that will be doing fordyce and rubicon many times this summer/spring. Im currently shooting for maybe mid to late march for the Rubicon. Depending on the weather of course. Id like to do a shakedown at hollister but that's quite a haul for you. It takes me about an hour and 45 to get there but its a great place.

Have you done Slickrock?

Weird. I saw the auto hubs, and figured it was all ten bolt. The knuckle probably came from a truck with an NP203 and no lock outs.

Something like that it had me very confused when I was just starting out with this truck! I'm nowhere near an expert but I've gained a lot of knowledge reading the forums, mainly ck5 before I was a member.

Ok so i got some parts in! :woot: Its coming together slowly but surely. Seems like every time i get a little further into my Dana 60 swap i find a need more parts...some of those are self inflicted. :dunno:

14" pro comps!

ORD brake lines for a 12" lifted truck:

Sliders!

Made some quick little stainless plates for bed tie downs

F-250 shock towers from ORD:

Drop pitman arm from ORD:

Finally the stud kit for my crossover steering...should have ordered two for spares

Have you sold your 8 lug front yet? We gotta go wheelin when your rig is ready!

Nope I haven't listed it yet because It's trapped in the garage until I get my truck back under its own weight. shouldn't be too long now.

Hell yeah I'm down to wheel! I had a buddy that went to chico so I'm familiar with the area. I had some of the best nights of my life there pegging school girls and getting hammered in the crazy horse! love it up there...way more relaxed then around here.

I'm thinking about hitting slickrock or hollister as a shakedown run in may. once that goes well I'm going for the rubicon! pm your number if your down!:woot:
