74’ Cheyenne C10/K30

Lots of cleaning. Block cleaned up good, primed and painted. Acid washed water pump and ps/alt bracket. This is the unincorn of 6.0 motors. Long crank and iron heads. Great for me running SM465. Hopefully picking up some aluminum 317 casting LQ4 heads from a local buddy.

Yep I skipped the orange on this one! Almost didn’t even put a fresh coat on it. The black on the block was in good condition. The last 4 have all been orange.

I am pulling the 5.3 from the 72 Cheyenne just to paint it orange here pretty soon.

You should put the 6.0 in that truck and the 5.3 in this truck.

To late it’s not orange :rotfl:

5.3 has cam, springs, lifters, fresh gaskets. Budget wise I’d rather have a stock motor in this truck and keep the cam motor in other truck. Swapping cam and such was a thought but not really worth it just to say it’s a 6.0

Just expand the budget until it fits your goals. That’s what I do.
Never believed in a "budget" build what you want. No matter what it cost. Yolo.

I am building my dump truck under a "budget" basically just meaning I won't use many expensive parts. I.e. aftermarket parts vs NOS, or a cheaper paint then a PPG product. Things like that.

Yeah, how does "budget" and "build" go together. I've heard people say them together, but never seen them work together in the real world application. :haha: Unless the word "exceeded" was included.

Unfortunately , some of my stuff sits for a long time. But honestly it doesn't bother me. I would rather build it the way I have in my head then have it be "not right"
Putting a budget on it would force me to make exceptions that wouldn't be part of my vision.
