Hello
I need some help matching my drivetrain to my new motor. I had a 555ci. big block built and installed last spring but never changed the original drivetrain. I have a th350, stock converter and np205. My engine has 700 foot pounds. I’ll be tearing ass around town and taking it to the dunes. It has a 6” lift and 35” TAs. I know you guys have done this before and I can use your experience. Thanks, Andy.

A Lenco with three planetary gears, and a 4-disc peddle clutch could work. Might be a bit of work to mount the NP205 to it though

That’s winning right there.

That 350 will die soon enough.
Th400 or 4L80. Manual valve body. Upgrade the input shaft

I’ve never had a manual
I’d like to keep it auto

I agree with @Bent77 , but I wouldn't do a manual valve body, just a Trans-go shift kit with some associated parts. TH400 , unless you need overdrive.
And I would ditch the 12 bolt rear axle soon for a 9.5 14 bolt, or a custom 9 inch.
I would bet that the 12B won't put up with the abuse for long.
Check out what @Deuling has done with his in the sand.

Is that cage tied to the frame?
I agree w full manual T400 and a built 9" or 14BFF
you will need a 32 spline 205 input, or just look for a T400/241 combo (did that exist?)
With that power I'd seriously consider a transbrake and paddles!

Tie the cage to the frame and add triangulation.

Traction bar (single).

Upgrade axles.

You need a build thread so we can drool over the motor and future upgrades.

I've seen one square body a guy stuffed an Allison automatic into ,got it from a 70's school bus..not sure how he did it,I couldn't look under the truck, probably had a divorced transfer case ?..that's one automatic that wont be likely to break too easily..

fyi find a better way to plug that nipple on the pass side tank of the rad . that rubber cap is starting to look sketchy and ready to pop .

other wise good build so far .

Those rubber cap things suck..they dry out and crack or pop like a balloon in a short time...I'd trust a hunk of heater hose and a bolt stuffed into it and clamped much more, after having a few of them fail on my vehicles..

It’s getting a new radiator, CVF serpentine system, ac system, heater core
I’ll probably get a custom tc built and a th400 and transfer
Maybe do the axles next year or after they break

@74gmc454 how does the FI Tech like the 555? Compression? Cam specs? What heads?

Another vote for the Kwik Performance serpentine kit, I love mine. Th SBC system looks very clean and tight, not wide and spread out like some serp kits (including OE).
