Its missing a good chunk as well. How easy is fiberglass repair?

It's easier than rust repair on metal...takes some patience, bondo, and lots of sanding or use fiberglass cloth & resin..best done outside, its smelly and lots of dust gets created..

That thing is rough. As said, salvage the convertible-specific parts and all the interior trim, as those can be hard to find and pricey if you do. I'd save the doors, but the rest of that body is toast.

The Front low back seats and the rear seat are hard to find. Even if the fabric is trashed.

If it has the rear seatbelts, I'd be interested in those if you decide to get rid of them

Wow, that brightens my day up knowing its fairly simple. Now I'll be hunting for a different blazer. Maybe I'll actually have this thing road worthy by the end of next summer.

Thanks for your help guys

Not so fast; We didn't get a good look at the floor.

This would not be a prime candidate for me if i were looking for a blazer. However, if someone gave it to me for free, then yes, i would likely drive it----assuming the floor is in halfway decent shape. Remember, none of the body panels are load bearing....

i would add that, this is not a unibody vehicle; The fact that there is rust on the body panels is of no concern to me. Is the frame solid, is all i'm worried about.

I haven't had a good chance to look over it in the day light. I'm going to get out there today and inspect.

I did however just find a 74 with Dana 44 front and full float rear, its missing interior, windshield, hood, engine, and title. Thinking about picking that up, acquiring a title, and using old blue for parts

If you expect solid floors in that truck I want some of what you're smoking.

Yes quite a bit of the body isn't "structural"...however there are many important things bolted to the body only that you might be overlooking. Like seats, and seat belt anchors. Even Blazers with very little exterior rust often have compromised seat belt anchor points. This blue 74 probably has nothing but the end of the seat belt hanging out in a pile of rust flakes.

Done is done, they don't all get to live.

Hey Dirtbag D, I'm the guy on facebook that was talking with you about the frame differences.

In the last pic you posted in your initial post, is that Great Stuff expanding foam sticking out of the rear quarter panel & tail gate???

Lol sure is, I have no idea what this guy was thinking. There is great stuff all over inside as well. I didnt get to see it before hand but I think that even though it was free, I should have passed on this thing....but I was there with a trailer so **** it haha
