74 K5 build (K30 Donor)

Couple more pics.

Not sure if I mounted the rear shackle in the correct hole on the hanger, but it looks correct to me.

Last night I was able to get most of the dash put together. Tomorrow Ill get the door panels, kick panels and seat backs painted black to match the rest of the interior. Im shooting for the end of the month to have this thing up and running :k5:

That dash looks new and the steering wheel too....looks very familliar :D

Dang, even the firewall insulation looks new

Why not use the 454?

I would keep the SM465, and swap in the big block.

This truck is in surprisingly good shape. It almost looks like someone might of done some sort of restoration sometime during its life.

The wife will be driving this and she isn't comfortable driving a manual, so converting it to an automatic only made sense. Im going to either do a 383 or a newer gen engine swap.

What are you doing with the SM465/NP203?

Don't scrap it, as that is a fairly rare and somewhat desirable combo.

I'm actually going to sell everything as a complete kit (95% complete) to simplify someone's life who wants to convert their truck to a manual.

Manual steering column
Linkages
Flywheel/clutch
Transmission/transfer case
Shifters/boots
Clutch/Brake pedal housing
And some other miscellaneous items.

Finally getting a little closer I still need to finish up the upholstery for the seats, interior trim and some other minor details on the inside.

Replace both the steering box and pump, flush the engine and coolant system.
