After a 6 year hiatus from wheeling, I've finally come to my senses and after 4 months of searching I have finally picked up the right full convertible Blazer. It's about 90% rust free, just a few spots on the floor boards by your feet and some minimal surface rust.

During the hunt I came across a 86 SRW K30 that had a 454/400/205 Dana 60/14bolt (4.10s) 6" suspension lift, 36x12.5 tsl radials (70% tread) on 16" wheels.

Sometime in the next month or so I'm going to strip everything out of the K30 except the 454 and put it underneath the Blazer.

During the process I will completely update the interior and find a paint color for the rig.

Pictures to follow.

Why not cut and shorten the K30 frame and fit a short bed or stepside on it to reduce some weight? A K30 and K5 are similar in weight so if you shorten the 30 you can shave some and have more power to weight ratio. Just a thought.

If I was going to turn it into a full on wheeler that would definitely be the way to go. As of now, I plan on using the Blazer for the summer, mud and snow runs. Nothing crazy.

Looks like the one I almost drove to look at in Texas back in 2010...it's the perfect color already :D

Does it have the rear seat? If you have the rear seat belts and aren't going to use them, I would be interested.

Sorry for lack of updates, been super busy. I was going to scrap the K30 because the amount of cancer thats in it but my neighbors friend is going to buy it as it sits.

Here are a few pictures of the progress, Ill have a few more up tomorrow. Tomorrow I will be picking up a 2wd gear box to finish off the crossover steering and install the steering box brace. Im going to be swapping out the sm645/203 for the TH400/205 so I will be needing a automatic steering column.

Bought some diff rings from DIYX and some .25" plate to build some rock guards for the front and rear diffs.

I had to cut off and relocate the rear spring perch's and shock mounts because of the K30 rear end (realized this issue when I was ready to install it in the truck) :doah:

Haaaaaaaa!!!! Heard that before! That's like when you say "at least the wind isn't blowing" when you live in Wyoming. You're in for it now.
