Why are you against grinding the calipers?

Martin

I guess I see myself swapping these tires between trucks and possibly swapping axles around. I don't really want to grind the calipers each time. It is definitely a cheaper option at around $956 for bfg km2 and $322 for wheels.

I might have some 16.5 x 9.75 wagon wheels available here soon for super low price. The are in nice shape...

yeah the bfg prices are from costco and include their 15 dollar mount and balance fee. The fun thing about them is they won't put a tire on a wheel which is more then 4 inches narrower then the tire.

Costco said they can't get me the 35x12.50x16.5 in a mud terrain, but I didn't ask about the all terrains. I may just get all terrains for the truck and put the mud terrains on the blazer.

Another factor is I drive very little. Maybe 3000 miles a year for each vehicle.

Keep me posted on those wagon wheels.

Drove it

Well the weather forecast looks a little to promising so I took the top off and went for a drive. The downside is it drives terrible. I think it is caused by the tires. Seems to rock from side to side as I drive down the rode and push into the turns. The pushing may be due to the welded rear locker. Also the caster angle is about 10 degrees. Not sure what effect this has. I will have to look into it.

Oh well felt good to drive it. Here is a comparative pic

I ended up swapping tires with the one which were on the truck and now it drives great. Discovered it has a slight pull to the right when breaking. I will have to look into that, but other then that it might be time to start thinking about a cage again.

Thanks man :thumb:

Well I got a couple of parts to install some time hear in the near future. The T-bird radio is done so time for a upgrade. Also snagged a tach dash out of a crew cab.

I have yet to see anyone put aftermarket gauges in their dash and have it look any where near as nice as the factory gauges.

Martin

Well the dash will certainly look cleaner without the large sunpro tach hanging off of it.

I installed the tach dash and came up with a couple of issues.

-First issue is the fuel gauge, voltmeter and temp gauge don't work. They didn't work before and I haven't really looked into it.

-Second the truck currently has a mechanical oil pressure gauge and the tach dash has a hook up for an electronic one. Both dashes are out of 1974 trucks.

Also I swapped the rear axle out for a non-welded one. Now the stupid u-joint straps don't snuggly hold in the u-joint and it came out while I was driving. Tried a couple of different pairs of straps with no luck.
