75 Jimmy build FOOLSIZE (time to wheel)

Wheelbase: 108" Width F/R: 89.5" / 88" 3 link -upper: 32" -lowers: 32.5" -vert sep: 8.5" -panhard: 38" 4link -uppers:38.5" -lowers: 40" -vert sep: 9.5" Front DS 1410 HADCV ride: 33" Rear DS 1410 ride: 38"
Now I cut the front fenders to fit the tires

Not quite sure how much ended up getting cut but wanted to keep it rounded for a nice clean look

and cut :hack:

Threw the tires on it to see how it would look

Before We got the tank put back in it

Also had been searching around cl for a d60 and finally found one for the right price so ran up to tahoe to pick it up

loaded up in the old dd

then it was time to tear it down an clean it up

and go through and check everything on it

we got the 60 and front clip put on right before I left.

Right around this time my current jobs weren't working out so i decided a change was in order. So I went and joined the air force and left within a month. After finishing up my basic and job training I got orders to Italy for 2 years.
I ended up leaving the blazer with my good friend who has been helping me build it and continue/finish it up.

It wasn't long after I left that the blazer became semi mobile. Ended up getting a custom rear drive shaft from Paradise driveline and new brake lines.

Using stock fuel tank skid

Down to the muffler shop to get the exhaust done

Next it went out to the fab guys house to get a bunch of tube added to it and some rust fixed. first poser shots i saw of it actually running as well.

I was beyond stoked to see it moving and running under its own power, it just sucked being 9 hours ahead of it

Thanks.

Very clean build. How much body lift is on that?

Martin

Well the mid 80s frame was different then the blown up 75 frame it was on so to set it level it ended up being a 2"/3" hybrid type.

Once it got to the fab guys house he moved the steering box forward so the high steer and x over didn't contact each other. The box ended up being moved about 3".

frame horns got plated as well
called up ORD and ordered a PSC hydro assist kit

sorry about the blurry pic

Time for an update
Front bumper getting build

Start of the sliders and some tube around the wheel openings

Driver side slider done and seat mounts built

Front shot of the bumper

rear wheel opening

Is that tube or rod around the wheel openings?

Martin

Oops! I meant rod around the wheel openings. To keep the sheet metal from cutting the tires and give it a little more stockish look

Oh I like the look, I just couldn't imagine it being tube.

Martin

Home

9/13-9/14 Well I just got out of the air force and am now moved back home so there will be more time to take the blazer out and work on it. the first weekend I was back we went out for a little mild camping trip just drove around on some fire roads and it was great!

It was about an 1.5 hour trip one way and the truck drove great.

weak point

Last Sunday we took the blazer out again but only to a local OHV area and found some rocks to crawl around in and found that the front drive shaft needs to be lengthened as it pulled apart on my second pass through the rocks. Other than that the truck drove great. I will be getting pictures soon.

looks awesome, glad to see you finally got a chance to enjoy it.

Is the 75' tub replaced?

Nice build by the way. You have done some really nice work on this truck:waytogo:
