75 jimmy. finally getting to build my dream truck.

Pic 1: if you've ever wondered if it works but never tried it, well here's proof!! Worked like a champ to get the Philips head bolts out of the rear filler panel.

Pic 2: rear bumper project is starting... Here goes nothing...

I had my cage bars run that way, but less than 1/2" off the floor. It wasn't bad, but even that low you had to be a lot more careful getting in and out. This does appear to be a compound fracture waiting to happen.

For tarp snaps, maybe add the snaps to the inner channel part that the topper rubber sits on. It's not a hollow structure prone to rust like the rest...

Nice low buck build, I like the do it all yourself direction. Gonna give you props for the heater box, that is definitely a part I've never seen someone build from scratch. :waytogo:

Keep the pics coming!

I'll admit it is higher then I planned, but I figured I don't have to drive it everyday so I'm sure it's something I can live with for now. I'm trying to find a pickup that I can use as a tow rig so I can just make it a toy. I have an idea for sliders that will assist in the getting in part as well. Worst case I'll have to cut it out and start over.. I appreciate the input, I'm always open to idea or input from a different set of eyes! Thanks on the compliments for the heater box, it utilized all stock components that can be gotten at any part store, adding to the reliability and for less then 50 bucks I couldn't see doing anything else. I'll try to get the build pics of that loaded here soon.

Oh and as far as the DIY part of it, I can't afford to have somebody else build it, and I kinda try to stick to the creto "built not bought". I've always liked that, I'm not the best but it's mine at the end.

Got my seat bars in and one seat mounted...pretty good progress for one night!

Thanks! Since I gotta jump to get in it anyhow and try to miss my head on the cage, it's not that big of a deal to try and miss the door bars. Plus I'm gonna try to get a different truck to drive when I need to so this one can stay a toy.

20151017_003723.jpg FB_IMG_1445059675962.jpg Well heres an update on the little heater project for the jimmy defrost vents are in, and ductwork was made up and installed!

FB_IMG_1445119730844.jpg Truck decided while it was idling early this afternoon to go ahead and pop into reverse (due to how body now sits on the frame and bound column shift linkage), luckily I had enough time to get from behind it before it plowed my garage door... luckily itdidnt go through the door, did bend it up pretty good though... that incident spawned the floor shifter, id rather have an art carr but I had this one laying around, so it got pulled off the self, and then I extended the 4wd shifter for ease of getting to without to much reaching. Hope to have one of my 205s in it before long...

Built a new bumper with better departure angles... the other one hung way to low... and this one is all 1/4" plate! Id say it should hold up to some crap...

You did loosen the shift linkage under the floor near the trans? It has a certain amount of adjustment that will take away the bind depending on how much the body lifted.

No I didnt mess with it, and the body ended up droping a little after I did the floor pans... I was planning on putting a floor shifter in it anyhow, just not this one...

The new blower switch I made, allows me to use all the speeds of the fan vs only one or two. See how it works tonight. FB_IMG_1445439647777.jpg
