75 jimmy. finally getting to build my dream truck.

No new updates unfortunately... Haven't touched it since April... But I got the top off Sunday and went cruising yesterday but they're talking rain, so because a tarp is easier to maneuver by myself, she's covered up...

Well it's been a while since I've got to work on this thing, but some parts showed up in anticipation for some nice spring weather...

Finally got around to replacing my leaky power steering pump and lines, and while doing that I found my tie rod was as loose as could be, not sure how it hasn't broke yet.... I looked into cross steering and all that, but didn't want to invest in all that till I had a solid plan on axles.

And with all this awesome rain we've had in Iowa I found my tarp leaked onto my tool box in the back and found the box had cracks in the top, thus leaking water into the box, so this afternoon, since I have the day off, I'm running up to the deezee outlet store to get a new box...

Gonna try to upgrade my battery cables to 2 gauge wire that I got for free from a buddy who works on locomotives and go from a side post battery to a top post battery...

I'll get some more pics of the stuff done so far and other stuff to be done this week if the rain holds out. Otherwise I'll be trying to figure out how to organize all my junk in my 2 car garage to actually get 2 vehicles and a motorcycle in here.... Oh the joys....

Sorry for such a long post...

Well in the few minutes since my last post I was able to move enough around to get the k5 inside! Turns out with enough proper placement of junk I can get both it and my 51 coupe and my Harley inside and have room to work on the vehicles! If only it was another 8' wider... Oh well, work can now commence on the truck!

Some tube doors I've been playing with... When ya got no money and a bunch of tubing.. ya tend to make your own stuff... Not sure if they're legal in Iowa, but all the laws I've read so far don't say you can't, just needs to be a door with a solid latch, thinking I have that covered with using a bear claw from speedway motors!

Well I tore out the dash I had made for it and put in a dash bar, and added some bars to the b pillar hoop, thinking I'm gonna run some tubing from the dash bar in between the seats to make some kind of a console out of... Not sure how that's gonna go yet, but we'll see... IMG_20170404_223618022.jpg IMG_20170404_223642400.jpg
