I recently acquired a 1975 k5 as a project but now I am thinking about selling it and I am not sure what to ask for it.
It is a full 'vert with a perfect interior, nice stereo, decent paint, shiny chrome and only a couple tiny spots of rust.
Mechanically it has a brand new(500 miles) 350 with an Edelbrock intake and carb, chrome everything, new ignition, headers w/dual exhaust ect.
The rearend(12 bolt) has been rebuilt with all new bearings, seals and ring and pinion. It has a 2" suspension lift and a 2" body lift, all bushings are poly, all brakes,TREs,ball joints ect have been replaced. The tires are almost new 33 12.50r15 no name all-terrains on 15x10 chrome wheels.
I have all the receipts for all this stuff totaling over 6k.
The only bad thing about this truck is that it is currently 2wd,with a 2wd th350 in place of the th350/np203 it should have.I'm guessing that the 203 was making noise and they just took it out.
What does CK5 think this is worth as it sets?
Oh and here are some pics.

As we're all over the states (and canada) you'll get a bunch of different answers. Best thing you can do, is look at every K5 on CL and local whatever places/sites. And generalize from there.

Today's economy, 6k in receipts still equals whatever someone has the money to spend, and what you're willing to let it go for, or how long you're willing to sit on it. It's a good looking rig, it's less common.

But yeah, best bet, CL every single K5 and set your price from there. I know a lot of us here if we see a 6-10k price tag, it had better be pretty amazing. And the people who spend that money want something to buy and drive right away, and not fiddle with it. So the paint/interior has to be what they want, 4wd could be an issue.

Then again I'm biased from being on here, have owned a few K5s, and buy the super cheap clunkers :D

I would say it would pay to get the tranny & transfer case back in it,to make it back into a 4x4,you'll get a lot more for it if it still has 4WD capeability..anyone interested in it will use the fact its a 2WD as a barganing chip to whittle the price down..

That said, having almost no rot or rust will still make it worth a lot to the right person...full verts aren't easy to come by..

It's a 1975 which means it's a full vert...the body is in a good restorable condition...it is not original in a lot of places, grill, interior.etc...

My opinion is that if someone wanted to restore it they would have a lot of expense to get it back to original...that said, I would ask $5500 and hope the 4WD is not an issue for the buyer

On second look...it isn't even close to original...you can barely tell it's a 1975. For restoration purposes I would only offer you $4000

I thought only the 1980 models had the square headlights. Does it have a different front clip? :dunno:

Yeah, kind of a weird mis-mash of front ends. It has the 73-80 front fenders but the 81-87 grill and headlights.

Around these parts $3000 max, if you fix the 4 wheel drive 4k.

huh, never even noticed the fenders. Thought they didn't work with each other. Perhaps that's only the later style 90-91 type front clip.

In 1980 you could get square headlights with the old style fenders. The core supports are different between the early and late styles. They don't play well with each other.

If you fix the four wheel drive 4500 to the right Person. 3500-4000 as it sits. Body is decent but a lot has been changed or custom so would take the right guy with the right money to get her sold. Whatever you have into it add five hundred to it and hope for the best. Or whatever your lowball Sale price would be add a grand to it and come down if someone is interested and has cash. It's going to be a headache for Someone as its not complete as it sits. At least the body looks decent and its a full vert which is a plus.
