Might as well start one

75 corvette
383 motor
4speed
60k on car

Just picked up some new adjustable strut rods and shock mounts. Gonna get it aligned this weekend.

Plans are
Fiberglass spring in rear
Aluminum radiator with electric fan
Re paint
Side pipes
Rims
Interior
Sound
427 motor with a 5 speed trans
A/c hooked back up
Alarm with ignition and fuel cut off

Gonna be a long build but the struts are on so now my tires don't look so bent in anymore lolImageUploadedByTapatalk1367437521.201843.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1367437545.416302.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1367437572.623919.jpg

when you post a pic, put a couple spaces (hit enter a couple times before putting in another pic, that way they align vertically instead of horizontally.

I really like the strut rods, they are a way better piece than the originals.

Not sure how good the frame is, but they tend to get weak where the kickup for the rear axle is welded to the main siderails of the frame, also where the trailing arms bolt to the frame...that window can catch all kinds of crap in it and rust where the trailing arm bolts to the frame...being a colorado car, its probably sickeningly solid though.
One more parculiarity of a Vette is everything has its own ground wire with lighting, etc....no metal body to ground to.

shoot me some questions if you have any....there are a couple other guys on here too with some Vette specific experiences.

Will do on the spacing. I usually do all my web surfing from my iPhone so when I loaded the pics they looked fine but didn't think of what they would look like on a computer screen.

I'm hoping to get her up on a lift here soon and check everything out. The previous owner had it since 30k on it and said it never saw rain and was always garage kept so I doubt it saw any salt either.

However i don't know if its an original Colorado car so who knows what I will find when I look underneath.

I noticed the rear shocks are a regular gas tub style but these also have air adjustment. When I bolted the shocks back on I added air (30psi) and the ride height stayed the same, then up to 60 and nothing changed. So I bounced the back end up and down and it was very stuff almost no give, so I back them down to 30psi

Any idea what a good psi is to run for street or mountain roads? And are these style of shocks worth keeping on?

Off with the old on with the newish.

Used hookers that I picked up for 400. Went down and had the headers dipped and installed them today. Way better than the quiet exhaust I had

Also picked up some original factory wheels with beauty rings and caps for 75 bucks. Will hopefully get those bolted on when I get my new tires

I love the sound of them, before you couldn't hear the exhaust over the engine fan. Now it sounds like a true hot rod.

I had been looking for those wheels for awhile. Guy said he sold his vette and wanted them gone. Couldn't believe I snatched them up before someone else could.
