76 K5: Megasquirt EFI, Electric Fan, and ICON Coilovers

Made the first family outing in 1.5 years today. Had a blast, climbed a real nasty hill, had lunch up top, did some geocaching, let the kids explore the desert for a while, then headed back in, Probably a few hours round trip. This truck still amazes me. The climbing is absolutely awesome. There were a few spots that I doubted it for a moment, but it went just kept going... Of course, while I was at the top, I happened to find a rock to park upon for some more glamour shots, lol...

Looks like a good way to spend the day!

That last part made me laugh. That's about the time my kids would hear the truck start and start to wonder if they were getting a ride home or not

Little tiny update. Hacked up my engine cross member temporarily until I build myself a better clearance one... Side benefit: I can now remove my oil pan without pulling the entire out...

Also finally took a flap wheel to the fenders to clean up my cuts. Cut my back pretty bad the other day working under there, bled fit a good 20-30 minutes, almost went to get stitches... Figured I didn't want that happening to one of my girls, so eliminated that hazard...

Finally got around to making up some redneck brackets for my brake hardlines, had to relocate the lines due to having too much travel for the longest hoses I could find locally... The only somewhat suitable material I could easily find was 1/8" angle iron, so I made what I believe are the beefiest brake line brackets ever...

Didn't get to install them, hopefully tomorrow... Need to get ready for a trip to Johnson valley this Saturday.

Nice outing pictures! looks like the truck did well and the family had fun that's about all you can ask for. After seeing how well your front end flexes it has me convinced of a similar setup in the future when I set up to tons.
