Literally. 2 feet. Sorry this 24 hour barracks duty is killing me...
Correct, for now. I'm going to meld the e fan into the stock shroud, I just really wanted to hear it run again ASAP...
So during tuning my 3rd or 4th hand electric fan took a crap on me, didn't realize it until my temp was at 250... Oops... Tried putting the mechanical back on, got it all bolted up, then realized that it was the wrong rotation fan, so that didn't work...
Decided to go ahead and get myself a Windstar fan, and I just wasn't feeling the junkyard. So on to rock auto I go, $80 and 2 days later a big box showed up on my porch...
Also got a call from ICON today, my shocks were finished! I happened to be around the corner at Kartek picking up so fuel filler hose, so I ran over and picked the shocks up. Then back to Kartek to get springs to match.
I cannot wait to get these put in... But I think I'm gonna have to refrain and get some of the new versions of our brackets cut, the brackets that are in there right now will put the shocks at some weird angle that I don't like, and may either bind up the rod ends or scratch them up, neither of which I want to do to these beautiful shocks...
And I'll have to design some brackets for the fan to mount up, shouldn't be too hard, just need to get some quick measurements, may as well get those cut at the same time as my axle brackets.
Also started working on designing some poly bushing motor mounts, my stock mounts just aren't up to the task of containing my foot, err, I mean, motor... Rubbed a little spot in my passenger side header already, gonna need to deal with that pretty soon. At least I won't have the issues with the fan rubbing anymore with the electric fan...

I miss being able to walk into Kartek. So many goodies.
I considered Icons as an option for my new rig. Let us know how they work out for you.

My k5 I just picked up about a month back. Should be putting on parts this winter after i get my upgraded electric and hoist installed. Right know I'm planing on going with ADS as they are full on race shocks, and I can get them at the same price as the entry level kings. I've been parting out my old rig and have a stack of parts, and cash for the new build.
Very cool. What kind of a link system are you going to run? Depending on your time frame we can take my blazer for a romp at KOH so you can test out the ICONs for yourself...
Custom 3 link, ford 57's in the rear with 12" smoothies. Goal is to have it done by next years dunefest.

You guys are a riot. My toes would be bleeding as soon as I walked in my garage! I'm so used to wearing steel toe boots that I'm always catching stuff with my foot before it hits the ground. It's a bad bad habit!
