Got the diff put together, torqued down and welded then installed, backlash looks great. Disk brake flanges are on and fully welded. Since I'm using the 14bolt FF hubs on the Dana70HD dually axle I welded the flanges on at 3-5/8", that left me 5/8" between the bracket and the rotor. I need to drill out a couple holes (threaded holes) on the caliper brackets and I'm going to use shoulder bolts with lock nuts instead. Calipers are good, painted them orange today, just need some new pads. I got the hummer rims mounted up and everything clears, backspace looks awesome. Need to run my hard lines on the axle. The Wheel-Mounting-Surface (outside of hub to outside of hub) is 77.5" With the hummer rims on the outside edge of the rims measure 84". Its going to be like having the wide ZR2 stance on a fullsize! haha Went to every place in Frankfort and dad stopped in Lafayette and we could only find 6 wheel studs, so I need 10 more. I slid the driveshafts in and stuck in a bolt in both sides. I spun the pinion and it spun around easily, seeing both rims rolling forward was nice (welded/locked diff)!
I would like to replace the spindle nuts, the ones I have are kind of beat up, you can tell they used a punch to take them off at one time.
Once I get the wheels studs and install them, pop on the new pads, run the hard lines, drill out and replace a couple bolts, move the spring perchs and get the tires on the hummer rims it will be ready to roll! Sounds like a lot but not really.

Ok the pictures should have loaded so here ya go!

Very nice buildup. The D70HD brakes now shed light on my dreams to do it, too. Only I would run what nvrenuf has done: D60 caliper mounts and rotors.
Still a great build nonetheless.

Only found 6 more wheel studs today at 3 different stores :doah:
Why are these so hard to find? Why wouldn't a store carry more than 2?

Most people only replace them when broken- if they do it then!

i have a ton of them, well all the studs from the 3 rear ends I had :)

I just got done welding my spyders on my 70 today, hope to have the rear back under the buggy on tuesday:D

drives me nuts more people dont make 70 covers, I have heard a d-60 front is real real close and will work

lookin sweeeet

60 and 70 covers are the same things. 80 covers are more elongated.

lol your truck is gonna look like a roller skate, I'm in the process of putting a SF 14 bolt and a 3/4 ton 10 bolt front under my sisters boyfriends CJ7 and hes gonna get some shoe laces air brushed on the sides lol

With H1 rims they will only stick out about 3-4" from the body... not much worse than a rim with very offset.

Somehow those rims look familiar! Guess they are moving around the country as well!:haha:
