Like the title says... I'm torn. My budget just told me I could use what she has dumped into savings for parts needed. I'm thinking this may not really be my wife? Anyway... My eBay shopping cart is sitting at $1100ish and my fitec is another $1000. I'll need miscellaneous stuff on top of that. Maybe a couple hundred at the most? What do I do?!?!? This would cover lockers, fuel injection, a new set of headers, nomo leaky valve covers, 40 gallon gas tank, new steering box, some crossover steering parts I need, and a few other things. As much as I want to do this I think I will feel bad if I do. I honestly didn't know we had that much in there. It's not enough to retire off of but things have been kind of tight lately so it means a lot that she has been keeping up with it.

Give it a couple of weeks before you hit the "make me poor" button. If you're still comfortable with the idea in 2 weeks it's probably not half bad. But if things have been tight you might appreciate having some safety margin for life's inevitable issues. Also helps to have some cash lying around when a really good deal on parts walks up. Like when some member parts out a brand new steering box for half price (or something like that).

It won't quite make me poor but... Yeah I might sort through and get a couple things off the list.

I guess I forgot to add that it's also not much use ordering parts faster than you can install them. Then they just get in the way while you're working on other things. A steady stream of "just in time" parts saves time and hassle.

I recently ordered a new fuel pump for my rig, and went out to put it in the truck...only to find that I had ordered one last year and completely forgotten about it. :doah:

Most of this stuff is stuff that I need to move down my list. After these days off it'll be 10 days before I can get back at it anyway.

Im sitting at the junction of "sell stuff to buy stuff" and "make it if its free"

I am running at a deficit on this build, but three digits is all.
The FI can wait.
See if there are side jobs or crap to sell.
Cruel reality, but it is what it is

Been selling and have a bunch of scrap to haul but the price is still way down. A lot of the reason the money is there is because of things I've sold to pay bills. It's all free and clear and bills are paid up. BUT... It is nice to have the money there.

only buy what you have to have! Can fuel tech wait? if so wait it out. Trust me I use to buy parts and have shit laying around it sucks!!!! Could of used $ else where. Also my wife is tight likes to pay everything in cash!
I have waited over 2 years for shocks and tires for my K4 and hope to get them before Sept. I have to sell stuff to play with my toys.

Kids cost alot and that is part of life I chose to take with no regrets so family and bills first.

Savings I have been told should be enough to pay all your bills for 6 months if your family is out of work and my wife is firm believer on that thought!
