I did that on a Chevette that I owned started running weird, popped the hood all I saw was snow.
Well my guess is Frosty the Snowman is a ford fan and relieved himself on my air cleaner. Lol it does look like bubbles in that picture.
Yeah that’s how this went down too. I was busting through a big drift and it completely powered out. I let out of it thinking I was screwed but it kind of started running ok so I throttled into it and it backfired and must have blew the snow off the filter? After that it idled for an hour or so while I helped my buddy get a big truck unstuck and it ran fine.

I ran my k5 for years in mud and snow with no inner fenders, eventually took out the hood to keep it cleaner
Going into the wind or no wind would probably be ok, but the crosswind was booing it right up on the engine and out the cowl onto the windshield.

Finally made it to the hills a couple weekends ago. Had a great time with @530BLAZER even though the drifts were crusted over and the wind was blowing 90mph. Pretty sure every one of us spent the same amount of time on the shameful end of the rope. It was like Russian roulette. You never knew when you were going to break through the crust but you knew it was inevitable. Usually the first person through was ok, and the second person had a chance, but after that it was full throttle and hope for the best!
