Quick Intro: My dad passed in 2016 and I inherited his 77 K5. I am originally from Georgia so the truck was there. With new tires and a few other upgrades the GA mud truck made the long trip from GA to Colorado. Stock 350, Stock axles, lifted ~8 inches via blocks, sloppy steering. The thing was a tank but also a mess to handle. For the first year it was just a night mare every time it went to the mountains, something always breaking. So the evolution began!

First up: Ditch the carbs and upgrade the axles. Both were fail points already and with Colorado's altitude changes it just made sense. From there the foundation was set and everything else snowballed in the "Might as well" moto we all know. So here are the details

So how much do you think that you raised the body up with all the changes? Thanks! Dave

The body is 2 inches off the frame. I think the ORD lift came in around ~4 inches on suspension lift, maybe a half inch more with the shims to get the pinion angles as optimal as possible. Stuffing 40's in to ~6 inch total lift resulting in tons of fender trimming.

I'm trying to find how high I can go with tires and lifts. Because I'm trying to keep it under 7 ft.
