'77 step side desert runner

I swung the motor in today and I'm deciding how far back I want to push it. Initially I put the collectors on so that they point out the passenger side of the truck but the more I play with them I'm considering rotating the collectors so that they point out next to the passenger side of the transmission.

Up exhaust is real popular in the sand car and SCORE class 1 cars. And boats, really fast boats.

It doesn't matter where the exhaust goes as long as it is efficient.
I guess I should clarify that I had seen them in boats before. I always assumed that was simply because the exhaust needed to come up above the waterline anyway. I guess now that you mention it, I have seen it in a variety of rear engine applications too.

Well I really wanted to use the 180 degree headers. I really like how they sound and thought it would be neat on something I'm not concerned about cutting up.
So it's more of a cool factor in your build, not necessarily because you needed the room down low. right on. They are certainly cool looking. :saweet:

Thanks for indulging my curiosity. :)

MORE MORE MORE!!! :woot: Trying to come up with something original to say... Uhhhhhhmmmm... Looks good! Nice work? Keep it up?

I hope you're making 2 of everything cause I need this suspension for a 76 step side 2wd in my pasture lol

Lookin awesome bud!!

Sorry for being a bit of a dolt, but I have never seen headers like that before. They actually intrude into the cab?

I just got a massive truck boner and also died a little inside because I wish I could make something this beautiful
I'm freaking stoked on this thing! Totally what I want to do for my next build! Can't wait to see the progress and what you got planned for the rear.:popcorn::bow:

Oh and whenever you're feeling generous, I would love those CAD files. :D Did you do all the plate work on solidworks?

No I designed it all in ashlar vellum and cut it on a torch mate. That solid works is expensive!

Maybe once it's done and everything works I'll cut a few out for other guys.

Way cool! I've never heard of that software before...who makes it?
Yeah I still have solid works from when I was a student:woot:. And I have access to a plasma table. I just have no idea where to even start. I really want to cad an a-arm suspension but just have no idea where to start without have a 3d modeler to get the truck into the software and then designing it.
