'77 step side desert runner

Gotta start with a tape measure paper and pencil! My entire front end was designed in 2d.

But seriously it's a lot of work, which makes it hard to give away.
Damn that's gnarly. #respect. I totally understand that for sure. I have to dimension stuff out for work and man, it is tedious, timely and SUCKS when you screw up, even after measuring 5 times...
I have an idea on how to do the arms but it's the spindle that seems the hardest thing to design.

The spindle is super easy. A simple arm can be easy too. I pocketed mine so that added a little bit of difficulty and making the lower unibal angle right took some trial and error with cycling.

I ended up making mock arms and spindles I could adjust and bend to get the numbers for the final stuff. It saved a bunch of time.

Looks good! Can you take a pic from above so we can see how far into the cab these ended up?

Well the distributor in my k5 is 2-3 inches from the fire wall.. and the motor mounts are roughly at the oe bumpstop.. looks like you pushed it back really far..7-8 inches maybe?

Yea my motor is about 20 feet from the firewall. Hahaha
I think I'm in the 6-7" range though

If you dropped a plumbline off the harmonic balancer what's the distance to the closest part of the front crossmember? That might be easier to compare than a mythical firewall that's propped up in the corner of your garage somewhere. :haha:
