I'm in, but all three of them need to get done and running.:haha:

Hey muddermilitia, I noticed you have a S&W 6-point cage on your sig.. How did that do for ya? Who installed it? and what do you think of it? Have any pics of it?

The S&W cage is pretty decent for a starter. My brother helped me install it. If I had the money I would have taken the truck to a custom shop, but for the price, the S&W cage will work for me.

A bunch of pics here: near the bottom, http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2186902/5

Thanks man, it looks good. I have been looking at one of those for awhile now. I'm just not sure yet what i'll go with unkl al's was trying to talk me into one of there custom ones, we'll see.

No worries, I'm not sure about mine either yet. We could get out the lawn chairs and just stare at them while having few beers, bragging about what were going to have.:haha:

Time for an update:

Things are going real slow for the k5. Poly performance is really messing up when it comes to there shipping dept. I place an order about 2 weeks ago for 8 bushings and only received 2. Things happen, no worries I just gave them a call and ask about it. They said it was just a mistake and they would send me out 6 more and I should get them on wends./thurs.. Well it did conflict with the work being done on the k5 because they needed them to start with, but Filo at unkl al's said he would hold off a bit and start some prep work on it.
Cool I thought, then thurs. came and still no bushings. I called poly performance back on friday at 8:30 am to find out what's up. customer service said they had no idea and would call me back. well I ended up calling them back at 10:00 am because I didn't get a call back. They said there still looking into it, and would call me back. I believe the guy I was talking to was Garrett and he said he packed them up himself and put them on the shipping table. 12:30 pm came around, I called them back, still no answer of what happened. They said again they would call me back, but we see how that works, with "we haven't forgotten you" said to me. So I waited and waited looking at the clock and realizing they are about to close, so I called them back at 4:45 pm. I finally got an answer to my question of what happend to my bushings. First time was someone didn't know how to count in the shipping dept.. 2nd time was, well weird. Garrett packed them up and gave it to the shipping dept., the shipping dept shipped them out 2 day air to someone else in the country that order 2 of them not 6. So yes I asked, did I get there order and you sent them mine. They said no it is definitely 2 separate things. They had no answer to what is going on at the shipping dept., but said " do you think we would be in business if we did this to everyone?". of course not but why me 2 times with a 3rd time to someone else on one order. well they said they were going to ship out yet another set of 6 bushings to me. I asked when I would see them, they said tuesday! wtf? first my truck is on hold and blocking the fabricator from doing work on anything because my big old k5 is in the way, and they messed up 2 times now making me wait 2 weeks for something they already charged my card for. Well here is the kicker he knew I was wanting next day air and so he offered, but said not on sat. because shipping would be 100.00. He said normal next day would be here on mon. I was like ok at least I get them. well as every thing was being done he pops out with I'll have to ask the owner to get it authorized. I said ok, he said he would be in on mon. WTF? why did you ask and why did you say you would.
well it came out that he already shipped them out, he didn't think there would be a problem. But he did give me a tracking #. I still don't understand why he would lie to me about shipping them out one way but do another and hide it and not call me like he said he would to let me know. whatever, the 2 bushings I got look good and the fabricator is impressed with them , but OMG if this is how poly performance customer service is and there shipping dept. what else is there?
I know this is a small thing to some of you guys that has your share of stuff, but this is bad business. I know they have done good with others, but it does blow my mind how they handled it. I just don't see the reasoning behind it.
Well enough of that, I have a tracking# and it says it's going to bullhead and will be here on tues. Hopefully It's to my house and all 6 bushings are there. Sorry about complaining on here about a vendor, but it is a part of my build and what is going on with it.

Filo at Unkl al's did start on it they have the k5 in front of the bay door getting ready for the front bumper. Heres some pics. of what they have started.

And 4 shackle mounts for the bumpers

Filo called me at work today and said he's got the bumper figures and stuff started. So hopefully I'll be getting some pics of it soon during it build up.
Thanks Filo for your understanding and help.

What do you plan on doing about the axle location from front to back....you gonna do ORD zero rates or get creative with a reciprocating saw? Looks good by the way. A lot of the same things that are coming for my truck.

damn that sucks. One of these days I have to order some drive flanges from them. I hope the same thing doesn't happen to me.

Once everything is on the blazer and sitting at ride height, then I'll decide on what to do. I may have to move the front axle up farther to get more height or I may get a saggy butt blazer and need zero rates to get it level. I may just luck out and all is level where it sits, if this hap pends then I'll just relocate the rear axle 1 inch further back with spring mounts and start cutting:hack: . I do know i want the fab shop to extend the inner wheel wells so they get out of the way. because the edge of the inners is almost centered onto the rear wheel now. I'm hoping I maybe able to use some bushwackers with some body work and keep it looking nice instead of cutting it all up.

That is weird. My buddy spend's so much cash at Poly it just doesn't sound like them. Anyways bummer they dicked you around, but hope it is all straingtened out.

I'm sure it just a bad run of luck with them, but there does come a time when you do have to do what is needed to get the whole thing done and over. Like send them overnight correctly, I mean this is the third go around. When I asked the first time about it he said no it's to expensive (75.00 weekday over night). I do see his point though my order was probably that much in profits. But look at what has happened now. 48.00 for 2 day air shipping to the wrong person with 50.00 of parts they didn't order, then 48.00 again to get it to me hopefully. so now instead of 75.00(first time weekday overnight) cash or 100.00 (for the second time weekend overnight shipping).we have 146.00's cash and a unhappy customer that has hired someone to work on there rig and holding the shop up from making money themselves. What a cluster:mad:

Fido from unkl al's told me about some shocks from pro-comp for 40.00 a shock at summit. I went on there site and there they were pro-comp es9000's with 15.5 inches of travel for 40.00. Yep I now have 4 shocks on order for the k5. I now they are to much for what I want but it gives me more room if something goes wrong before I blow a shock and when I get the shock mounts done it also gives me more freedom on later builds. I'll just have to run limit straps and bump stops.

he also told me of a guy wanting to sell a smoothed blazer top for a few bucks so I'll be checking that out on tues.

Thanks man

When you say a smoothed top, what do you mean. They have filled the lines?

The factory finish has a very rough texture to it. They just smoothed it down and refinished it to make it look more like the rest of the body.

Got a few pics of the front bumper build. It's coming along real nice I think. The winch mount is on and welded up with the winch on it. I like how the winch is real close to the grill.

Here is the starting of the bumper pics

That is going to be sweet. Although the winch is a little high for me, I prefer it down in front of the frame, but it does look good the way you have it set up.

nice i like the hood emblem
I picked the hood with emblem from a 78 3/4 pickup. Some say cheesy, but I thought it stood out. The hood has survived 3 trucks now totaling 9 years, so I figure it's good luck and has to stay.

Thanks man, I told him what I wanted and he's doing a great job. I figured I spent to much time extending my wheel base for a reason, I should do what I can to save it (departure angle).

Update:
Just for info. to everyone Poly performance finally got my bushings to me. Now the real work can begin!!!
