77k5 build thread - Wanna Crush a ford taurus? help is needed.

You're still alive!?! ;) welcome back
Lol, yeah I am. So how you been?

It looks like I am in the need for a descent fabicator. I need some tube work done to mount my seats. hahah This weekend I am hoping to do a run through of the K5 and make up a parts list needed to finish the things started on it. So hopefully I can then put my efforts into making it drive.

Welcome back Nova....so you've come to experience the humidity, and rust that we've all grown to hate here. At least Indiana isn't as liberal with the salt as Mi, Ill, Ohio. you've got that going for ya at least.

Yeah it's nuts with the humidity around here. Lol. All my tube wrk on my trick was un painted when I moved here. Out in the AZ. U ony needed a thin layer of grease and u were good. Here they started rusting in 3 days that was not fun to over come and clean up. Hahaha but they r holding up just fine now. My brakes though damn, I think I'll let the pads clean that up for me.

I'm doing pretty good. Got sick a lot last summer so I didn't get much accomplished, picked up another k-5 and I've been doing some work to that. Will have pics up next week

New Idea

So I came up with a New idea. This may not turn out but you never know. My blazer is at a stand still after a couple of years worth of B.S., life can suck at times. whatever old news, lets move forward.

I want to get this thing runnin and start wheelin. I am going to have to come up with a parts list to know exactly what all I need.

But on to my idea- I have a 96 ford taurus (yes its embarassing) that actually runs very well, lol. Im thinking if there is some people out there that hates fords as much as I do, then you know how much i need my blazer going. If you guys can help me out on new or used or just somethin that will work with the few parts it needs. I'll post up a 1080 full HD video of me crushing that damn thing in the middle of the street, down town in the middle of traffic (if possible, lol).

But yes full HD 1080 quality of the fate of my ford by a real automobile, a 1 ton 77 Blazer rock crawler. If i can get this thing to drive on its own power in gear. I'm not lookin for perfection guys, just drivability. I'll handle the rest myself.lol

So let me know what you guys think!

And there you have it a pic from today with the ford sitting beside it, lol :haha:

So I need some tube work at min. I need just a couple of bars to run from the drivers side to the passenger side. I'm thinking through the floor welded to the frame to strengthin the frame at the sametime while holding my seats in place. Anyone out there that knws of or knows how to bend tubing and weld? I'm In The north west Indiana area.

The sad truth of offroading and life

Wow I just don't know what to say. I just read the sadest k5 story in the world. We all lost a valuable k5 member not to death or some sort of extreme disaster, but in a way of thats just how life rolls. " NEK5 ", with over 8,000 post in just 5 years most on here should know him thanks for the time you spent with us.

Its been awhile sence I was last on here and to those of you that know me on here that is left. You know what all basically I was going through. I deleted my build, hide my k5, relocated it several times, because of the divorce that lasted almost a year. I was so ready to give up on this thing myself. Then the day came when it was mine free and clear. I get it back home to start back up on it and asked for help to get my build back up. It was a dream come true that ck5 saved it all for me. Then very shortly after that I get the call i never knew I was going to get. Bankruptcy court was interested in my k5. Me and the lawyer went through hell trying to convence an old 77 blazer that has almost 14,000.00 sunk in it was just a piece of **** and dosent run. I left my build up, but didnt go to it. because i didnt want to go thru trying to get it back again, ck5 was so nice about it the first time. But, by going to it and talking about it would only draw attention that there was more to my k5 then what we were telling the courts. My build thread was actually brought up, can you believe that? along with other stuff that dragged out a 2-3 month bankruptcy to yet again almost a year. There is no more forseable things going on in my life, thank god. My money situation is on the low end, but i still have my house I was in the middle of rebuilding and my k5 i was in the middle of rebuilding to.

Several times in the past 2 years my k5 was either almost tacken from me or I almost just gave up on it. I am 2 years behind schedual on this thing, but I'm glad I stuck it out. I have way to much into this ride of mine. it meant to much to me and I went through hell to keep it.

So here I am, I have a slightly rusted k5 that once was rust free thanks to indiana weather. I can fix that. lol. I am lost to where I was even at with it, but I'm starting to figure it all out again. I dont have the funds I once had, but dammit I dont care how long this thing takes I will drive it once again, but this time up on my ex's front lawn and over top of my f'en ford.:haha:

Lol yeah me to. Thank you! I don't see anything stopping now. The funds are tight so it will be a bit slower, but I got this.

wow dude, i started reading your build while waking up with some coffee. it's about 2 hours later and the pot is now gone!! that's a lot of sh** you've gone through. been in just about all the same places with the move, the wife, the money, etc. glad to see you and the k5 still standing. i also have a '77 k5 that i got last year about this time, since then i've had some really bad stuff happen but i'll hold onto that thing regardless. awesome build, props

Yeah they are a lot of fun. Once you put so much work into it, it becomes part of you. It will drive once again even farther and harder this time around. Lol if you start a build on your 77 let me know. I like to see what you end up with. Remember the 77 is the only blazer with the gold (painted) trim. Lol silverado whatever your gold. Hahaha
