78 blazer ls swap

Start of an ls swap on my 78 K5
Had some time to keep going on the wiring. Made my own harness for the front lights. All the connectors where corroded. Used weather pack connectors to connect most of the wiring in the engine bay. Just need to wire the fan relays and horn and wiper in the engine bay and run the the wires for the rear lights and fuel pump.

Finished wiring the lights today. Started installing the fuel system. Installed the tank with the pump, installed the fuel regulator and lines from the pump to the tank. Just need to run the line from the regulator to the fuel rail and secure the lines with clamps.

Got the engine running with the fuel pump. Bled the coolant and so far so good. Need to get the ecm programmed so electric fans kick in. Will get the final wiring done and then to the muffler shop.

Looks good so far! Did you buy a new tank? If so, from where and what part number? I'm doing a swap also and would prefer to just get a new tank with the right baffling.

Was able to work on the truck for a couple of hours today. Found my door lock relay finally decide to quit so I wired two new relays in its place.

Got the fans all wired up and tested. These windstar fans are awesome. Almost done with the wiring just need to wire up the blower fan and my windshield washer tank/pump.

Did you get a new chassis wiring harness or just repair/reuse what’s in the truck already?

I got an American autowire power plus 20 for the truck. The engine harness is the original harness the engine came with, I just modified it myself.

The original truck harness was cut all over the place. I preferred going with a new harness instead of fixing all the issues. I made my own light harness in the front. All the connections where corroded and most had been tampered with before.

I’ve been looking at the American harness but think I’m gonna go with HotRod Wires instead. Some friends of mine used to be AA dealers, but not anymore.

The friend discount is always a plus. I'm really happy with the harness. I have a 51 5 window pick up I'm going to work on once the blazer is done. I'm definitely using an American autowire harness on that.

Sorry for the lack of uploads. I had an issue with a neighbor that caused me to have to stop working on my truck for a few weeks. She called my landlord accusing me of excessive noise and I was forced to move my truck out of my driveway . I took it to my brother's machine shop in Chino but that was too far for me to work on so I brought to my sister's house that's close by to me. I'll take some pictures of the truck tomorrow ,I've put sound deadner on the floor and installed a softop on it now. Still waiting for this guy to come by and tune my truck for me.

I also painted the dash. I'm in the middle of changing the window regulators. The passenger side is becoming a pain to install the glass for some reason.
