78 Dash Pad fit on my 1988

2 dash pad styles. old and new. 73-80ish and 81-91.

if you change the complete frame unit for the dash thay will swap out.

3 different types

73-77_no vin cutout
78-80 _same as above but with vin cutout
81-91

they will all swap from one to the other. I am running a '77 in my '89. And my friend runs my old '89 in his '76

The metal frames are all the same untill you get to 89-91 1 tons, K5's and burbans. Then the area around the radio was changed to made room for the larger radio. But the pads still fit, the bezel is different.

If you want to run the old one in a new truck, then look for one with the vin cutout. I haven't been hasseled yet but since my K5 is registered as a '89 but cloned to a '75 I would have to pull my pad to prove the vin. And my geuss is I'd catch crap over it too.

I need one for my 89' burb thats regg'ed as a 74'. I have the cut out on my stock pad but want a no cut out pad. I have the 74' door jam vin tag rivited to my burb in the same door location so I could show vin there. I even matched the factory rivets to install it. The only other vin is on the top of the frame, its full of grease, no one will bother to look there.

If you were closer I'd trade you for one of mine, seems I can only find 77's. I wish my 75 still had the vin on it when I got it, then I would have used it on the '89. I have the title and all. But didn't want to chance it.

It'll fit the driver side most clip won't work but no prob there, I run a 83 on my 75 Blazer.
