I'm selling my 78 GMC Sierra Classic K2500 4x4 Camper Special truck and Western snowplow. It has a 454 engine, manual trans, 2 sp transfer case, PS, PW, PDL, tilt wheel, dual gas tanks,Sony stereo, Pioneer speakers, Front Smittybilt bumper customized with snowplow attachment,rear Reunel bumper with hitch receiver and 2 more receivers for a motorcycle rack.
I'm the second owner and bought it in Jan '83. The truck has 221,xxx mi.
Rear axle was rebuilt at 119k and has a Detroit Locker. Great traction.
The engine was rebuilt at 204k mi and only has 16k mi on it. It's mildly
built with a mild cam, Edelbrock intake and Thorley headers.
Clutch is Centerforce Dual friction and works awesome.
Trans and transfer case were rebuilt at 216k and only have 5k mi.
Springs are Superlift 2" and shocks are Rancho 9000 series.
The negative stuff- The bed has cut outs for access to the gas lines. It doesn't affect anything, but thought I'd mention it. Freon leaked from the AC lines and needs repair. All other AC components work good. Heater works fine. Shifter levers rattle a bit. Body is scratched up (no dents) but there's a dent in the tailgate. Headliner vinyl separated long ago.
Virtually everything has been replaced at one time or another.
The starter, alternator, smog pump, radiator, EGR valve, suspension, heater core, steering box, brakes, master cylinder, clutch, bumpers, etc, etc, have all been replaced.
Recent work includes- plugs, distributor, all belts, hoses, coolant, K&N air filter cleaning, fuel pump and lines, thermostat and housing, muffler (3" exhaust) brand new battery, oil and filter change, new door panels and alarm system with pager.
This truck runs awesome and has tons of power. It always passes smog easily and has all the smog equipment in place. I have all smog paperwork. It was pre-smogged 2 weeks ago to get ready to sell. I have tons of receipts for the work mentioned.
Price is $2800 OBO for truck and plow. I won't sell plow separately.
