Hi all
I have a 1978 K5 blazer with a manual crank tailgate. The tailgate itself is missing the rear window crank. I bought a new one, and need to install it. I can push the new crank in to the hole in the tailgate and lower the window until about 1 inch of the window is showing before it hits a very firm stop. I tried lifting the tailgate handle at this point - no luck. So I took off the access panel and I cant seem to get it open. Ive pushed down the manual window safety latch and pulled at the two crossing rods to the lateral tailgate latches... nothing. I just relubed everything on the inside with WD40 and still cant get it to go.
Any tips? Stuck with a giant hole in the tailgate until i figure out hownto get the tailgate down to reinstall the crank
