78 sub build (sub is gone)

Next year I'm hoping to make it it should maybe be trail ready by then but is it ever done.
I have had a Dana 60 in the garage now for 3 month's that i have not even touched yet. It is all cleaned and painted just need to rebuild the seals, brak's, bearing's, and u joints.

Very nice work! question- are you going to re-creat the ridge in the sheetmetal along the bottom there so you can re-attach the weatherstripping? If so i'd like to see pics of that. keep up the good work, your rig looks awesome!

Nope on the weather strip i think if it bothers me i will add a door sweep from home depot later. A rubber flap an inch or so long and attach it to the door bottom so it would seal on the slider.

But i had to trim the bottom 1 inch off the door so it is level with the big part of the door. I m not really worried about noise or water getting in if it does it will just go right back out.

Thanks again for the compliments.

Placed an order today so hopefully i will have some parts by Fri and ill post the pic's.
Lighting and the electrical work is next on the list of things to get done along with painting the sliders. I got some spray grip tape like paint the other day so the plan is to paint that on top of the slider in the door areas for traction. I also got the first blue top optima and it fits nice in the new box.

Matt, GREAT build man! I don't usually look in this forum, but I just went thru eveny page of your build and I'm very impressed with everything you have done. Great job! I'm still going to steal your double skin idea. Thats awesome.

Got the hid's in today here ar a couple pic's' plug and play i did not like the way the wires where routed for the plugs so i un pluged them and swaped it around so i could use the rubber gromit to seal the new hid bulb.

The new hid lights worked awesome on the last dune trip so much light unbelievable. A friend of mine was lost in the dunes about 7 miles from our camp i flashed the hid and he saw them easily and i could see his 5 solteks also so i drove right too him. Three of my friends with the same round headlight setup are going to do the conversion now that they seen these in action.

I was pointed to this thread from my HID question thread... do you have any pictures taken at night?
I'd like to do a conversion on my k10 but want to see if it's worth the $$$.

I don't think i do i keep forgetting to get some, but 2 guys that have seen them have purchased them for there trucks. This weekend 2 more guys seen them and are ordering them up also. I was going to do a light bar and 5 hid's with these it is no longer needed they put out so much light especially in the dunes at glamis, and also on the street. For the price you cant beat it the stock lights suck these are awesome definitely no a waste of money. And the best part they are plug and play in less than an hour cant beat that.
