781 heads on c/l should I get em?

Buy the 781's if they are decently priced. The big deal with the 781's is that they flow real well after you have the large 2.19/1.88 valves installed and the bowls blended.

EDIT: just clicked the link and 100.00 for the pair is a STEAL, grab those now.

Picked them up last night, for 1 Ben Franklin. heads are bare, he had them disassembled by a machine shop for upgrading to larger springs, then he purchased a pair that were set up for what he wanted. He gave me all the hardware to go with them. I didn't see any visible cracks, so hopefully they'll be a good set. Man I love Craigs list. Taking them to my head guy to get started on them this week.
Again thanks for the direction Scott.

Just make sure your machine guy installs 2.19" intake valves and 1.88" exhaust valves and blends the bowls. Also make sure you install the correct springs that match whatever cam you choose to use.

Will do Scott, the guy I go to is a multi time NHRA competition eliminator record holder, and National Champ in 2000, Division 3 champ 7 times, and all he does is head and intake work. To say he knows his way around a set of heads is an understatement. He already said that we'll need to put the 2.19's/1.88's in it.
I'm still undecided on a cam though. I haven't really looked much yet, and I need to. My thoughts are 1500-5500 range, with emphasis being on torque production. Maybe a 210-220 duration @ .050, and .500-550 lift numbers with a c/l of 210.
What do you think?
