I've been absent for quite some time as my blazer has just been sitting with nowhere to really work on it and also the motivation was stolen by the 82 Yamaha bike I've been building since July. But the other day a buddy of mine said he was getting rid of his truck. He had gone back home to Saskatchewan a few years back and got this farm truck out of the barn and drove it to bc, where he's dailyd it since. He was using it as a work truck and worked it hard on the body, just strapping dump loads n what not since he didn't have any real liking to squares . I've been getting ready to sell the blazer and I think this will be a great replacement. And way more useful for bikes, toys and other stuff you need 8 ft of room for.
As it sits its bone stock, not sure what motor yet, gotta scrub the engine bay and find the suffix code, anything but a 305 would be ideal. 2wd , ten bolt rear ( not sure of gearing) ... and yea that's about it. It has the usual cancer but most of the rust on the truck is from the last year or two, and just surface at this point. It runs and drives great, brakes need some maintenance and bleeding, and I'm sure every front end component can be replaced. Carb was recently rebuilt by a shop. Don't know much about it since my friend Scott didn't have a clue. I figured I'd honor the name. Weve always called it spruce caboose so I'm gonna stick with that
It's got 184k km on it. His grandpa bought the truck brand new n said it's only been rolled once.
Itll be a little bit until I dig into her, gonna start stock piling some parts for brakes and front end.
Happy to be back!
