Had a fun day with Sally today. She’s been sitting in my parent’s backyard for way too long. Went over there and moved some trailers around so I could dig her out. Battery was dead as I figured so I took it home and charged it while I did some other chores. Went back over there and went to crank but just glitched. Damnit. Pulled the dually up and threw the jumper cables on. Let er crank till oil pressure came up then pumped the pedal a few times. She lit right off and idled!
While she was warming up I inflated the tires with my Milwaukee tire inflator which I love. Then proceeded to drive it to the gas station to fill it up because the gas gauge is questionable. Well it was empty. I made it two blocks down the street before she ran out. My mom came and picked me up with a gas can and we went and got gas. Put five gallons in but she wouldn’t crank. Had to put the jumper cables on it again. Still didn’t wanna jump off because apparently the battery has a bad cell and was soaking up all the juice. Got it going finally and drove it back to my parents.
Pulled the battery and got a new one to put it in. She fired right up, so I went to the gas station and filled it up the rest of the way. Now she has 15 gallons of fresh gas. Tires are slowly becoming round again, but still pretty flat spotted. Feels good to drive though. Picked up my youngest from flag football practice.
