'79 K20 vs. an '84 K20, which would you choose?

If there is a part time kit in the 203 you'll drive in Hi with the hubs unlocked. The guy should be able to tell you.

Glad you found a good one. I would have looked seriously at the big block 5 speed truck if the drivetrain was solid. Sheet metal is really easy to swap. A solid drivetrain is the hardest thing to get.

I always think the other way around...but I also agree with you too. Depends on where you live I guess?

Definitely needs another P-Pump. I've got the 4wd box and p-pump off of my other truck sitting in the garage from when I swapped over to crossover.

Needs a battery and a starter too. I've got both of those laying around too!

Tinkerin around replacing batteries & pumps and what not. Your being very selfish. We need pics man

Sweet, looks solid. How's the rust? So I was wrong, it is a 203? Does it have a part time kit?
Solid truck. Driver side cab corner has a little rust, back of the wheel wells in the bed are rusted through and there's a quarter size piece of rust near the back of the bed in the floor.

I have no clue if it has a part time kit. I'm guessing if someone spent the money on Warn locking hubs to replace the drive slugs then maybe so? The guy that owned it is around my age and probably has no clue what a part time kit even is. I'm sure if it was swapped it happened 20 or so years before he got hands on the truck.

Anyone kniw what could be causing this? Gear oil coming out of the breather and getting all over the place.

Lots of slimy crud around the pinion support in the 14bff

Too much fluid and a bad pinion support gasket?

I'd check the fluid level in the rear end. It might just have too much in it. If not that then it's likely heating up expanding the gear oil and puking it. I bet it's the latter.

Is there fluid coming out of the breather or you asking if that could be what is happening.
I want to say looks like pinion seal is leaking but if the breather is puking it's overfilled or water got in
