Called Texas Speed and Performance and told the guy on the phone what I have engine wise and what I have truck wise and asked what would be the best overall cam for my application.
He recommended a custom grind "Stage 2" 212/218 low lift came with a 110 LSA and 4° of advance built into the cam.
He said it will produce a lot of torque.
Said that a custom grind won't cost anymore than an off the shelf grind if I call back and order it through him.
Still haven't messed with the engine much. Local machine shop said $100 to clean a disassembled engine. I should probably get it tore down and take it up there... life's been keeping me from doing it.
Truck's been doing great otherwise. Had an extremely annoying squeal coming from the engine when I would lay on the throttle. I must not have tightened the jam nuts on alternators turnbuckle enough and the belt ended up with a decent amount of play on it. Fixed that and put some belt dressing on it and it's all good.
